We agree the work JurisTrace will undertake, the decisions reserved to the client and where specialist judgment is required.
We take responsibility for the agreed work.
Within the agreed scope, we assess requirements and evidence, develop recommendations, coordinate contributions and assess responses. We prepare leadership for decisions, manage authorized follow-through and assess progress. We state the source coverage and material limits, recognize contrary evidence and explain what could change our advice.
The client retains its decisions.
For Nation-directed work, the Nation authorizes the purpose, records, participants and intended users, and retains its decision-making authority. A funder does not gain direction or access simply by paying. Each other engagement has its own defined client and mandate.
Specialist and cultural authority remain clear.
JurisTrace does not provide legal advice, technical certification, cultural authority or regulatory approval. We prepare the supported position and focused questions for the people whose advice or determination is needed, and integrate their advice and findings within our agreed role.
Findings stay within the evidence.
A missing item in the reviewed record does not, by itself, prove that an event never occurred or a requirement was not met. Submission, approval, implementation and demonstrated performance are different states. An adequate answer may resolve a concern; a material gap may narrow the next inquiry.
Useful handover is part of the scope.
The engagement identifies the work your team can keep and use, how it may share it and who carries remaining responsibilities. A matter handover includes the supported position, relevant context and outstanding work. Continuing updates and access are scoped separately. Program and training assignments have their appropriate completion and handover arrangements.
Ownership and permitted use are agreed.
Clients retain their records. JurisTrace retains its pre-existing intellectual property and reusable methods. Ownership and permitted use of deliverables are set out in the written engagement. We can make the reasoning assessable without transferring our production methods.
Handling terms come before project files.
Before records move, the agreement sets the authorized transfer route, access, handling, retention and return or deletion terms. The inquiry form and initial email are for general contact only. Permission to access information does not itself authorize another use or disclosure.
